Banbridge Kayak & Canoe Club was formed in 1997 when a couple of local lads wanted to paddle the river that runs through their town. After most of the times getting wet than staying dry they started the club and got some qualifications in this water sport.
 
Today the club is a lot bigger and covers quite a lot as well. We have three qualified coaches and together about 40 years in the sport. Banbridge Kayak & Canoe Club is quite lucky to have one of Northern Ireland biggest rivers to go through the town. The river is used quite a lot with paddlers, from all over the country, even from the south of Ireland.
